Surround Architecture is an award-winning design firm located in Boulder, Colorado. Our suite of services includes architectural design, feasibility and conceptual studies, planning, contract administration, interior design and tenant improvements, along with comprehensive knowledge and utilization of software to streamline the process from early design all the way through working drawings.
Contextualism is understanding that our role as designers is to add a layer to something that already exists. We’re painting on top of a substrate with a history for which we need to be very aware, whether we’re filling a vacant property, replacing or adding to an existing building, changing the use of a space, or building something new. And, it’s equally important to look forward. Today’s design will be the layer on top of which future generations build. With each design we look at the past and future potential to thoughtfully interpret the context of place.
Based in Boulder, Colorado, Creative West Architects has provided Architecture and Planning services since 1999. We work with our Clients to develop solutions that resonate with the spirit of the place and the function of the building. Using proven design principals, we produce buildings that look natural and balanced, regardless of the style of architecture expressed. Through a collaborative effort with our team of consultants, we document the construction in a way that builders can clearly understand and are able to bring the design intent into reality.
The firm is experienced in a broad range of projects, including custom homes, mixed-use buildings, multi-family apartments, daycare facilities, master planning, land entitlements and both commercial and residential development. While currently focused on Colorado, we’ve designed in environments ranging from ocean view grand estates to mountain top cabin retreats.
